The Upstate New York I-Corps Node (UNY I-Corps) launched a new website today. The site provides researchers the opportunity to connect their strong scientific and technical knowledge with targeted curriculum and mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs. The long-term goal of the new site is to identify new discoveries that can be developed and gotten to market.
The site’s address is www.unyicorps.org
UNY I-Corps was created by a partnership between Cornell University, the Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of Rochester. It serves as a hub for commercialization training in the Northeast, connecting skilled researchers to valuable resources through national and regional I-Corps programming.
Designed to prepare participants to innovate and create beyond the academic sphere, the Upstate New York Node provides targeted curriculum and mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs. Currently, eight teams are engaged in a short course that will take them through the process of customer discovery and validating a business model.
Each year, the UNY I-Corps Node will recommend 20-30 teams to the National NSF program, where participants can receive $50K in NSF funding and other opportunities.
Participating in a Short Course is an excellent way to get involved in the I-Corps network. Registration for the March 2017 Short Course is now open at www.unyicorps.org
