Class of 2014 (Advisor: Jon Kleinberg)
Assistant Professor, Management Science and Engineering Department, Stanford University
My time in CAM was absolutely terrific, and arguably the most amazing thing about CAM is the phenomenal peer group. The applied math students form a tight-knit social community, and the broad range of student interests mean that you're learning new things from your classmates all the time, on topics ranging from algorithmic game theory to numerical analysis, from theoretical biology to mathematical finance. If you're considering CAM for graduate school, the most important thing to bring with you is a broad curiosity for mathematical investigations of all flavors. The rock climbing in the Adirondacks is also terrific (though the photo was taken in Spain, during a conference trip!)
